The film focuses on some of the island's native inhabitants, including a 12-year-boy and his family of fishermen, and shows how their daily lives are affected by the arrival of migrants to their shores. The migrants' journey is also chronicled as they risk their lives fleeing Africa and the Middle East in search of a better life in Europe.
