Haskell Wexler writes and directs this drama starring Robert Forster. When TV news cameraman John Cassellis (Forster) finds out his news station has been giving information to the FBI he is so enraged that he forces his boss to fire him. Now unemployed, he begins a relationship with war-widow Eileen (Verna Bloom) and heads to the 1968 Democratic National Convention where students and anti-war activists hold protests that quickly escalate into riots.
