Details

Spike Lee writes, directs and stars in this US drama centred around the New York jazz scene.

As a young boy, Bleek (Denzel Washington) was forced by his mother to constantly practice playing the trumpet despite not being particularly interested in becoming a musician. Nonetheless, Bleek becomes an accomplished jazz musician, performing with a quartet managed by his childhood friend Giant (Lee).

Romantically involved with two women, Bleek's love life begins to cause problems for him, as does his friendly rivalry with fellow musician Shadow (Wesley Snipes), which gradually becomes less friendly and more heated, threatening to disrupt their quartet.
