Underworld noir crime thriller directed by Norman Foster. After witnessing the murder of a juror in a mob-related trial, Frank Johnson (Ross Elliott) goes on the run from the police who are eager to make him testify. Hoping to track down their star witness, Inspector Ferris (Robert Keith) seeks help from Johnson's wife Eleanor (Ann Sheridan), only to find out that she doesn't care if he lives or dies.

But after discovering that he suffers from a potentially fatal condition that she wasn't aware of, Eleanor has a change of heart and decides to help track him down. Unknown to her however, the killers are following her every move.
