The BFI is a registered charity which supports, promotes and preserves film, television and moving image in the UK. Every product purchased helps support the work of the BFI.
We ship all orders as soon as possible. However we are a very small team, so please note that some orders may not be dispatched immediately, particularly during busy periods. Please bear this in mind before purchasing if your order is urgent.
Our delivery costs are calculated based on the total weight of the items ordered. Orders are sent via Royal Mail or DPD (dependent on weight and destination).
Orders shipped to countries outside of the UK will not be subject to 20% UK sales tax. If your shipping address is outside the UK, this 20% tax will be deducted from the cost of your order at the point of purchase.
However, please note that you may be subject to local import duties, taxes and delivery service charges, which are levied once a shipment reaches your country.
UK VAT will be deducted from the price of orders shipped to EU countries at the point of sale so that you are not charged UK VAT (Note – books and magazines are 0% VAT rate in the UK so the price will not change). However, as with all other international orders, customers receiving shipments to EU countries will be liable to pay VAT at that country's local rate. Please note that VAT rates and other taxes/duties vary between EU countries.
If you are concerned about import duties, taxes and delivery service charges, please contact your own country’s customs office for more information in advance of placing your order, as you (not the BFI) will be liable for any such charges.

Regrettably, due to current service and customs issues, we no longer offer shipping to countries not listed above. Please accept our apologies for any disappointment or inconvenience caused.
Please note that we have recently been experiencing some issues with shipments to Germany and Ireland being returned by local customs . We are working to ensure that all shipments to these countries reach their destination, but please bear this in mind when ordering.
Delivery is via Royal Mail or DPD and usually takes 5-7 working days maximum, although currently orders may be delayed (please see below). For estimated international delivery times, please see the Royal Mail website: http://www.royalmail.com/personal/international-delivery/country-guides.
Please note that if your international order contains pre-order items, or any items which are temporarily out of stock, shipment may be delayed until all the items in your order are in stock.
As a retailer, we care about reducing our impact on the environment. We collect used packing materials from deliveries and donations from across the wider BFI, so your order may be packed using used materials. We do not purchase any new plastic packing materials.
Our returns period is 14 days from despatch and any products should be returned within this period. We will only offer a refund of products provided they are returned unused and unmarked and are in the original packaging.
Please enclose a copy of the invoice with the item you are returning, stating the reason for return. Please note that we do not refund delivery costs. Please pack your item(s) in suitable packaging and return the parcel to us at:

For customer security, we recommend you obtain a Proof of Posting Certificate (available from the Post Office) for all returns. You should keep this until you have received your refund. We will make a refund or exchange once we have received the products, we do not accept any liability for products returned.
If you believe your products to be faulty, please return the item to us together with a copy of your invoice with a note explaining what you believe the fault to be with the products. When we receive the item, we will investigate the fault and contact you to agree the most appropriate resolution.
If the products supplied to you are damaged on delivery, please notify us in writing via the Contact Us page of the website within 14 days.
In line with the United Kingdom's Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 , you have the right to cancel your order within 14 working days of placing your order.
In the case that the products have not already been despatched, we will credit any sum debited to your credit or debit card.
If the products have already been dispatched you must return the products without unpacking them to us at soon as possible at your own expense. Once we have received your notification of cancellation and the returned products, we will credit to your credit or debit card any sum debited within 30 days of receipt of your products being returned.
If we do not receive the products back from you, we may arrange for collection of the products from the delivery address provided and are entitled to deduct the direct costs of recovery from the amount to be re-credited to you within 30 days after we receive your notification.
