Hungarian drama directed by Márta Mészáros in which orphaned teenager Juli (Zsuzsa Czinkoczi) and her grandparents return from exile in Russia to Budapest after World War II.
Unfortunately Juli's hopes of happiness in her homeland are gradually eroded by the strictures of a disciplinarian society.
