Celebrate our cinema heritage while keeping safe with this BFI Face Mask.
Perfect for socially-distanced trips to the movies, this fully machine washable and reusable, non-medical grade face covering features a non-woven filter with 70% filter efficiency.
The mask has an adaptable, pleated fit, shapeable metal nose wire to ensure a good seal and elastic ear loops. It's extremely comfortable, offers great face coverage and feels secure.
The National Film Theatre (NFT) was designed in 1957 by Norman Engleback and constructed in just 15 months. This mask features distinctive black and gold wallpaper pattern which adorned the screen shutter in the original NFT 1 auditorium. At the start of a screening, the shutter would retract to reveal the screen. It provided a backdrop to interviews with a stellar line-up of cinematic greats over the years, from Akira Kurosawa to Alfred Hitchcock (pictured).
