The Blade Runner glass is the double old fashioned glass from the Cibi collection, designed by Cini Boeri and made by Arnolfo di Cambio, makers of Italian handmade crystal since 1963.
Cini Boeri (1924) is an influential Italian product designer and architect. In 1973, she designed the Cibi Collection for Arnolfo di Cambio, a range which included this distinctive piece.
In 1982, Ridley Scott’s visionary masterpiece Blade Runner premiered, forging a stylish, dark new cinematic template for what the future might look like. Throughout the movie, Harrison Ford, starring as Deckard, sips his Johnny Walker Black Label right from this stylish, angular double old fashioned glass.
Scott selected the iconic CIBI glass to feature in the movie having been struck by its striking, futuristic design. The Cibi range of glassware has proved to be timeless, enduring as a widely-admired classic of modern product design.
Following the success of the standard crystal version of the glass, Cibi return with this premium black crystal edition, bringing an extra touch of cyperpunk noir to the iconic design.
