Add a dash of cinematic style to your sock rotation with these sharp National Film Theatre PatternSocks, produced exclusively for the BFI.
The precursor of BFI Southbank,The National Film Theatre (NFT) was designed in 1957 by Norman Engleback and constructed in just 15 months. These socks draw inspiration from the distinctive black and gold wallpaper pattern which adorned the screen shutter in the original NFT 1 auditorium. At the start of a screening, the shutter would retract to reveal the screen. It provided a backdrop to interviews with a stellar line-up of cinematic greats over the years, from Akira Kurosawa to Alfred Hitchcock (pictured).
These eye-catching socks feature the distinctive shutter pattern, woven in black and camel. Perfect for posing at the BFI Bar.
