Pay homage to Powell & Pressburger's beloved, haunting classic with this exclusive wrapping paper, inspired by set artist Hein Heckroth's 1958 wallpaper design.
To mark Cinema Unbound: The Creative Worlds of Powell & Pressburger, our major season of the great duo's work, we've produced this premium, limited edition The Red Shoes wrapping paper, produced exclusively for the BFI.
Set designer Hein Heckroth won an Oscar in 1949 for his visionary work on The Red Shoes. In the process of creating the film's evocative backdrops, Heckroth made over 2000 sketches, defining every scene in beautiful, expressionistic detail.
Just under a decade later, manufacturer Rasch commisioned Heckroth to adapt his distinctive drawings into a wallpaper design. The resulting pattern is reproduced here as a BFI-exclusive, limited edition premium wrapping paper.
The full colour pattern is printed on 100% recycled 115 gsm paper. Sheets sold individually. Sheets measure 695 x 495mm and are shipped rolled. Ribbon not included.
The BFI is a registered charity which supports, promotes and preserves film, television and moving image in the UK. Every sheet of wrapping paper purchased helps support the work of the BFI.
